WINDWARD OAHU: Kailua, the largest community on the Windward side is Oahu's windsurfing capital, and Kailua Beach is one of the world's most beautiful shorelines. Slightly over 50,000 lucky people reside here. This community is a tropical nirvana wedged between the incredible cathedral spires of the Ko'olau mountains and the turquoise opalescence of Kaneohe Bay. The exotic Ho'omaluhia Botanical Gardens is a breathtaking place to experience. Kaneohe has approximately 40,000 residents. This is the home of Marine Corps Air Station. There are schools, library, recreation centers, golfing, dining and shopping at the local "Windward Mall". This is a wonderful town to raise a family.
