CENTRAL, LEEWARD OAHU: It is truly astonishing to think of the amount of people who have chosen to purchase real estate on the Central, Leeward (a.k.a. West Oahu) of Oahu. Vibrant, people filled communities have established this area in recent years. Real estate here is by far the most affordable on the island. Developers took hold, waking up this sleepy part of Oahu, and created hope for new families to buy their own homes and begin new lives. They continue to build new homes and have plans for expansion for the next 20 years or so. There is currently a rail transit system under construction which begins at Kapolei that will take residents into Honolulu. Lots of exciting changes for this growing area of the island.

Aiea and Pearl City have comfortable and attractive homes that are in the moderate price range. Some have Pearl Harbor and ocean views. This area offers libraries, recreation centers, lovely parks, ball fields, medical centers and wonderful shopping at Pearlridge Center. This is the home of historic Pearl Harbor and the USS Missouri.

If there is any community on Oahu that looks like an all American city, it’s Mililani. It’s a town of well kept homes and streets, modern shopping centers, movie theaters, churches and fine schools. The beautiful parks, tennis courts, ball fields, hiking and biking trails, swimming pools and recreation centers were all a part of the plan.

Waikele is built around gently curving, tree-lined streets, beautiful Waikele Golf Course and Oahu’s leading premium factory outlet center. More than 50 discount outlets, shops and restaurants of Waikele Shopping Center include such sought after brand names such as DKNY, Ann Klein, Coach, Kate Spade, Godiva, and Saks Off Fifth.

Ewa Beach, Kapolei and Makakilo communities also offer wonderful opportunities for first time home buyers. The median price range in this area is among the most affordable on the island. The recent most exciting news is the newly built mall called KaMakana Ali’i located in Kapolei. This beautiful outdoor mall that has it all! Movie theatre, 24 Hour Fitness, CPK, Macy’s and more!

Drive a little further and you will see a tropical oasis called Ko’Olina.  Newly built “Four Seasons Resort” has it all! Pools, beaches, water sports, high-tech health club, tennis centre, resort boutique, business centre, and an easy walk to Ko Olina Golf Club. Close by, will also find Disney’s “Aulani Resort” which attracts more people and add more value to the area. Quite impressive pool, slide and water features that the whole family could enjoy. Also, “Atlantis Resort” is now officially in the works which may be the most expensive resort ever built, with a price tag of more than 2 billion dollars!

Upscale single family homes and condominiums are located nearby that offer many of the resort perks. Developers are building some sweet neighborhoods where sugar cane once grew.
